Why Fridge Freezer Samsung Is A Lot More Hazardous Than You Thought

Samsung Fridge Freezers With SmartThings

Samsung's Family Hub refrigerator is an impressive 389 litre fridge and a 225 litre freezer. It's a large American model with a quality temperature control system as well as many innovative features.

It's customizable with removable panels which allows you to design one that is perfect for your collection of tie-dye Crocs and matte black Rick Owens clothing.

All-Round Cooling

Separate cooling circuits in refrigerators equipped with All Round Cooing help keep your food fresher. In conventional fridges, one cooling evaporator cools both the freezer and refrigerator compartments. This usually means that the low-humidity air from your freezer is circulated into your fridge and can cause your foods to dry out. This can make food taste bland and unpleasant.

With All Round Cooling, each shelf level has multiple vents which circulate cool air. This ensures a constant temperature even when you shut and open the door of your fridge.

Optimal Fresh Zone keeps meats and fish fresher for as long as twice as long as conventional fridges, and without freezing them. This feature is a game-changer for anyone who enjoys cooking, but hates the fuss of thawing frozen meat or fish.

All Round Cooling utilizes an All Round Cooling cooling plate that is located at the back of the refrigerator in order to hold cold air and stop its loss when you open the door. It also helps reduce the need for power-defrosting to save time and money.

The ice dispenser that comes with Samsung fridges is one of the most efficient we've ever tested. Its patented Twist Ice Maker dispenses large cubes in a single twist and can be kept in the drawer below when not in use. This gives you more shelf space and allows you to easily locate your preferred beverages and snacks.

You can decide how your fridge and freezer open by using reversible Doors. It is easy to fit your fridge into your kitchen layout while keeping it neat and neat.

Frydge  is the central control of your SmartThings-connected home. It uses a large touchscreen mounted on your refrigerator. It will show you a live video feed of your smart doorbell. It can also order groceries with an automated inventory, or suggest recipes based on what's available in the store.

The flex drawers at the bottom of Samsung fridges are a smart storage solution that makes it easier to store larger items such as canned drinks and pizza trays. They can be flipped up when not in use and then folded flat to use less space. This is a great feature for those who are passionate about cooking and baking but are limited in their refrigerator storage space.

FlexZone

The Samsung FlexZone side-by-side fridge freezer has a unique three-zone system that allows you to add an extra refrigerator compartment or a freezer drawer to your set up. This flexibility lets you design your fridge freezer to meet your storage requirements and needs. It also allows you to upgrade to a bigger or smaller fridge with the addition of an additional FlexZone module.

The elegant design of the refrigerator will fit in with any kitchen decor. The stainless steel finish of the fridge is sleek and robust. It also has an anti-fingerprint coating to keep the surface looking fresh and new. The fridge also includes a convenient external water and ice dispenser to make life easier.

This fridge features an FlexZone bottom-right compartment that can be converted into a freezer or refrigerator. This allows you to have more freezer space for items like ice cream, bags of frozen vegetables and meat or fish. It also performed well in our tests, however the 21.5-inch touchscreen's superfluous apps and the absence of SmartThings and voice control integration are a missed opportunity.

There's plenty of room to store food items in the refrigerator's other drawers, including two crisper drawers and a customizable middle FlexZone drawer. The latter lets you select among five different settings for the fridge's freezer drawer, based on your needs. This includes the freeze setting that is compatible with the freezer settings and the soft freeze setting for wine or deli tray, a meat or fish setting, and the beverage setting for snacks, drinks and other items that are frequently accessed.

This Samsung FlexZone side by side refrigerator is ideal for families who want to have a fridge and a freezer in one unit. It's smaller than high-end French door models, however it comes with a number of useful features and is an excellent option for those with little space in their kitchens.

The Samsung Fridge Freezer is also a very energy-efficient fridge, thanks to its digital inverter technology. This technology regulates the temperature inside the fridge, so it doesn't change too much, and helps keep your food fresher for longer. Its energy efficiency has earned it an ENERGY STAR certification.

SmartThings

SmartThings might not be as powerful as Alexa or Google Assistant, but you can still add a lot more smart devices to it. It's also baked into Samsung smartphones TVs, tablets and tablets - as well as some fridges. This could be enough to justify it for some, particularly if you have multiple Samsung products.

The SmartThings app is a bit refined and well-rounded and comes with a 'if x then y' automated section that performs surprisingly well. You can set up things like an alarm that goes off when water sensors detect a flood, or turning on the light when your phone detects you're in your home. It can also control your fridge when connected to a smart socket but we've had mixed success with that.

SmartThings requires a hub, which isn't cheap. Samsung offers a variety of options which include the SmartThings Station that you can attach to the router and use as an nightlight. There's also a less expensive SmartThings hub dongle that supports Z-Wave, Zigbee and Thread.

Once you have your smart fridge, smartphone and hub connected it's a breeze to use. The SmartThings app lets you control your fridge from any location with notifications sent to your phone when it's opened or closed. You can create schedules, set the temperature and even set reminders.

SmartThings is an early member of the Home Connectivity Alliance, which is trying to make major home appliances from a range of manufacturers interoperable. That could mean you'll be able control your Samsung washer and dryer, Electrolux oven and LG television with the same app in the near future.

Although it's not as widely used as Alexa and Google Assistant, SmartThings does have a few big hitters on its list which include Arlo, Nest, Belkin and Lifx. It's compatible with the Matter protocol that allows accessories to be paired regardless of the brand. The best choice for most users is to combine Alexa and Google Assistant.

Family Hub

A fridge freezer isn't much more modern than this: it's equipped with a 21-inch touchscreen in the door, complete with a variety of clever features. You can access entertainment apps, make notes for family members (think big digital version of a notepad that is stuck to the fridge) Check weather updates and more, all thanks to Samsung's own voice assistant, Bixby.

The touchscreen lets you manage your food and recipes. You can add ingredients from an app and view the contents of your fridge with internal cameras. You can also create an inventory list of items while on the go, and monitor foods to see when they'll expire. You can even use a specific recipe app that will provide instructions as you cook.

This is the second generation of Family Hub fridges and Samsung says it's spent a year adjusting them to the needs of customer feedback. You can now create separate profiles for every member of your family to allow them to customize the information and apps they have access to. It's not as effective as Alexa integration into your fridge but it is an improvement over last year's model.

Besides its ability to manage grocery and entertainment, Family Hub also acts as a controller for Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can connect to Matter-compatible devices, like lights, plugs and locks, and you can use the touchscreen to control them.

Samsung's fridge has been around for a while and, even though it offers a fair bit of features, the touchscreens aren't exactly an essential feature for the majority of people. These are more of a fun, semi-frivolous accessory than anything else.

This could be changed with the release of more software updates, but at present these models are ideal for those who wish to have the most comprehensive connected refrigerator they can get. If you're not one of them, you can always choose a lower-cost model without the Family Hub to save some cash. This could be worth it for you in the event that you own a lot of smart home appliances that must be controlled by the same device, or if you like the idea of an appliance with a massive touchscreen.
